GYPSY ORIENTALE

AMARA AL AMIR & Tapestry World Dancers

This is a 4 part dance to Houbbak Ya Wala from the Cocktail Belly Dance CD. We named it Kaleidoscope for the visual impact of multiple colors and tie dye costumes. 15 Dancers in total performed this dance at Amara's Gala Belly Dance Shows and Parties and it was taught over 4 classes in 4 parts, each class learning one part. This is a great solo piece for stage, club or party. But what is more fun is a group dance. Using veils and skirts is the theme of these dance and features classic belly dance steps and moves for a very authentic presentation. This dance appeals to Greek, Turkish, Egyptian and Arabic alike for a spectacular show. This video about 2 hours, breaks the dance down in 4 parts and teaches each part separately and then combines them all for a final run through. There are themes and threads that repeat in each section of the dance and the last part uses elements of the first 3 parts to tie the whole dance together. What is a good idea is to have different dancers come in and out of the dance. Shot in a beautiful dance space on digital tape, you will learn the whole dance in this video.
