An excellent compilation of dances from various regions of Egypt performed for the Arabic Culture Club at Dag Hamarskjold Theatre at the United Nations
Sponsored by the United Nations Arab Culture Club, dance selections were specifically interpreted for their authenticity and adherence to Egyptian traditions. You will see village dances of the Fellahin, Benat El Nile, the Balais, Saidi Stick, Luxor and Malaya at it's very best and most natural. The Zeffa at a traditional wedding celebration historically is the highlight of village life in Egypt and includes Raks Chamadon performed to the original music of Mahmoud Reda. The charm, elegance and comedy of songs like El Hikaya nd Ayowa Ya Am bring back nostalgic memories to those of Arabic culture. Classical Danse Orientale to Sit El Hosn plus other Danse Orientale selections finale the wedding celebrations of these collections of Egyptian Folkloric Dances.
