SAMIRA OF SYRIA'S BIOGRAPHY

 A Special comment from Amara

"I am sure everyone has a mentor they can trace their career in Belly Dance to.  Mine inc luded the Great Serena Wilson, Ibrahim Farrah, Ramzi El Edlibi. Ibrahim ElDouchory and the last 10 years Samira of Syria. A chance meeting with this great lady changed my life as did all my other mentors.

Samira grew up in Syria in her families nightclubs and danced nightly with great dancers and musicians in her home as well. She brings an essence and authenticity to the dance rarely found. The subtlety of Arabian/Egyptian Dance is captured not only in the movements but the interpretation of the music, song, spirit of the origin and history of the dance.

Samira will grace us with her talent in a workshop and show in Raleigh, NC. on Sunday 12/12.

A rare treat for everyone. As found of MEDLS, I always seek to retain the heritage and art of Belly Dance as you know and this is the next step in this journey.

Please read about Samira and these events. This wonderful workshop will be followed by a Holiday Stars Showcase. now an annual event every year. This is our 2nd. The workshop is on Sunday 12/12 from 11 to 2pm and the show is from 5 to 10pm where you can be a star. "
